Measurement Systems for Evenness

The Pavement-Profile Scanner (PPS+) is a laser scanner of the latest design, which is integrated in the rear wall of the Pavement-Scanner semi-trailer and approved for the ZEB sub-project evenness in the transverse profile (TP1a). The PPS+ is primarily used to record information on the evenness of the road surface of a lane with very dense measuring point spacings in an eye-safe manner using laser technology. Further data on geometry and longitudinal evenness can be derived from this measurement data.

Also in the right-hand rolling lane of the pavement scanner, the evenness in the longitudinal profile (TP1b) is additionally recorded according to the multiple scanning principle (HRM principle).

Furthermore, the International Roughness Index (IRI) is recorded using a single laser with accelerometer.
